"To break the mold, first you need the courage to go against it.  In a fast-paced world of ever-increasing competitiveness, saturation, and blur it’s essential now more than ever for one – person or business – to challenge the status quo and ‘historical norms’ to stand out, move the needle, and evolve."

Jessica Mekkes, Communication Consultant

Jessica is the Head of Musical Theatre for the School of Theatre & Dance at East Carolina University where she has also been a professor of voice since 2017. She is an expert in how the voice works, how the brain works, and how they can work together to create a clear, balanced, flexible voice existing in a body that isn't afraid to use it.

Jessica has spent the last 15+ working as a vocal coach, clinician and performer on both coasts, many states in between, in Honolulu, and for 2 years in Seoul, South Korea. Jessica is the creator of She is Fierce: Find Your Voice & Raise it the Hell Up, a workshop series helping clients harness the power of their voices and change their lives. She works with clients to make positive changes to their voices: in their head and out of their mouths.

Her work is effective and efficient, as both a full-time professor and a toddler mom, it has to be. Her book, She is Fierce is currently on submission. Rep'd Katharine Sands, Sarah Jane Freymann Literary, NYC.
